"He was rolling around on the floor, singing to me, I just had to give him a $100.00 bill...I tucked it right into his pants...You would too if you saw this man, he's intense"--Anne; Montgomery, AL

City Stages
An incredible turn out... I can't believe how many of you came out to see us! Thanks for making a hot, miserable day so cool!

"I went to City Stages just to see THIS band!"--Anthony; Birmingham, AL

Kelly Ingram VFW
Man you should see them swing!! All the girls were a twirling and the men were there too I think! It was great, I look forward to doing it again next month.

From the Archives: (Have a little fun and find out how we started!)

Friday January 4th
Our first gig as a 3 piece! We had a great time. Small crowd, but everyone seemd to be having a great time. We hope in the weeks to come, we'll get a bigger crowd. Thank you again, Jim for giving us this opportunity!
Some songs worked, others needed work. Let us know what you think!
Editorial:This particular gig we made a whopping $30.00 a piece and were paid in quarters! How's that for a starving artist story?

Saturday November 24th
Sorry no posts lately!
We played a gig in Tuscaloosa since the last post! I've been lazy.
Tonight, we played at Cotton Jim's in Cullman. Man was this ever a cool place! It was like a traditional Honky Tonk, but no alcohol was served, so people had their kids there!!!! Jory Jr. Would love it! Next time we go, he'll be there! We had a wonderful reception, and did 6 songs. We'll let you know the next time we're there. Thanks to Josh for setting it up!
Editorial: Yeah, the gig in Tuscaloosa was for a little league game in the freezing cold no where near the field.  The total number in our audience was--my wife! And so ya' know the Cullman gig was $5.00 pay per man and it costs us $20 each in gas to get there!

Saturday October 15th
Back in Montgomery. Thank you SO much to Dot for having us down, and we look forward to seeing you all again in the Spring (when it warms up a little).
Editorial: This is one of my favorites. This was just like the Hayride that Elvis played except there was no hay and no ride. Oh, O.K. it was a flea market but it was fun!

Saturday June 23, 2001
Our first performance at Movie Gallery's 50's Sock Hop was a success!! We had a small, but rockin' crowd, and it was great to see so many kids out!! There's hope for this generation after all!!
Congratulations to the winners of the dance contest, and the costume contest!
Given the amount of time we had to practice, I think the music came off without a hitch. We even took a couple of reqests from the audience (although LOUIE LOUIE and the TWIST are both songs from the 60's, not the 50's.....oh well, people enjoyed them).
Editorial:  This was the first billing for The Martini Shakers as a band it had no pay(I did it for my wife). It had none of the members you see today(except myself) but at least we had the NAME.
